To check the clutch on a 4600 Series operator:

  1. Follow the wires from the clutch to the 4 pin connector on the controller, and disconnect the connector from the control box.
  2. Clutch -- Measure the resistance (ohm reading) on the 2 outside wires on the connector. You should get an ohm reading of 1200 ohms (+/- 10%).
  3. Motor -- Measure the resistance (ohm reading) on the 2 inside (middle) wires on the connector. You should get an ohm reading of 20 to 70 ohms.
